Piano Lessons App terms of use

Last updated October 18, 2026

These terms cover the Piano Lessons App for iPhone ("the app"). The website has its own terms of use.

What the app does

The app teaches piano with step-by-step lessons and songs shown as falling notes onto a keyboard. You can play on the on-screen keyboard, on a real piano with the optional "Listen to my piano" microphone feature, or on a connected MIDI keyboard. It is a practice aid and is not meant to replace a qualified piano teacher.

Independent app. Piano Lessons App is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any piano maker, instrument brand or music school. The songs are public-domain compositions and traditional tunes, arranged for the app.

Note detection

  • Listening through the microphone depends on your room, your instrument and your device. Background noise, an out-of-tune piano or headphones can cause missed or wrong notes.
  • A MIDI keyboard gives the most reliable results.
  • Stars and scores are a guide to your practice, not a formal assessment.

Free and Full Access

Free: the first two units and six songs. "Piano Lessons App Full Access" is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks every unit, lesson and song. It is offered weekly at USD 4.99 or yearly at USD 39.99, and the yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you confirm, and may vary by country.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial if you started one.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the same price at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID account settings (iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions) after purchase.
  • Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
  • Restore purchases is available on the purchase screen and in Settings.

License

Use of the app is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

Liability

The app is provided as is. We are not responsible for notes the app did not detect, for progress lost if you delete the app, reset your progress or erase your device, or for any strain from long practice sessions. Take breaks.
